Traffic Exchange Advertising   Leave a comment

Traffic Exchanges are without a doubt one of the best sources for highly targeted business opportunity minded prospects.

How’s that, you may ask?

The answer is quite simple. It’s because everyone who uses traffic exchanges are people just like YOU!

Let’s first take a look at what traffic exchanges are. And by traffic exchanges I’m talking about surf-for-credit traffic exchanges, start-up page exchanges, and auto-surf traffic exchanges. We’ll go over some examples of these in a bit.
———————————-
Surf-for-credit Traffic Exchanges:
Surf-for-credit traffic exchanges are programs where you open your browser to the programs web site, then log in, and begin surfing others web sites. Every 15 seconds or 30 seconds or whatever the timer is set to, you are given a certain number of credits for viewing that web page and then allowed to move on to viewing the next site.

Most surf-for-credit exchanges have some sort of system where you have to click a defined number or color in order to prevent abuse of the system. So, in short, a surf-for-credit exchange is a network of advertisers willing to view other advertiser’s web sites so that their site will get viewed in return.
———————————
Start-page Traffic Exchanges:
In much the same way, a start-page exchange is a program where you set your browser to open to the start-page programs URL. Then, every time you open your browser, you get credits for doing so. In return, your web site will be shown to another advertiser on the network when they open their browser.
———————————
Auto-Surf Programs:
Auto-surf programs are different in that the browser automatically surfs from site to site without any intervention on your part. You simply set it up and let it run. You can even let it run all night without any work from you.

After a defined number of seconds the browser will automatically surf to the next site. Although the conversion rate, or the amount of people who result in sign ups from auto-surfing programs is low, the fact that all you need to do is set it and forget it and it’s not costing you anything, will mean many may find it to still be a worthwhile form of advertising. Hey, if you can set it up to run all night every night and get 1 or 2 signups per week from it, why not?

In addition to earning credits yourself, there is also the option to purchase credits on most traffic exchanges. Since ultimately traffic will cost you either cost your time or money, purchasing credits will prove to be a very good investment for those who learn how to best utilize traffic exchanges in order to profit from them.

Most people who are part of these networks don’t make a conscious effort to look at each web site that opens in their browser or that they surf by for credit. Yet, unconsciously they are open for attack.

What do I mean by this?
Well, take this quiz about yourself:
When you’re surfing the Internet, do you ever make a conscious effort to view an ad?
a) Yes, I do everything advertisers tell me.
b) Are you kidding me? Of course not!
c) I’m a marketing guru. I look at them sometimes just to learn from them.

Most likely, the answer for you was b.
Of course, if you’re smart and are really trying to learn more about marketing, then you probably answered c.
In either case, I’m sure we can agree that the average person tries to avoid ads. In fact, most people go a long way to avoid ads. Most people scroll past the banner at the top of a page, or close out that pop-up window as soon as it comes up.

In the same way, the fellow members of the traffic exchanges are most likely not going to be making a conscious effort to view your ad.

What does this require of you then?
This then requires that you think creatively. Your ad must “pop-out” from the rest. You must create an ad so unlike the typical ad, so eye-capturing and thought stopping that your prospect can not help but be taken out of his unconscious state-of-mind and be forced to consciously read your ad.

Is this even possible?
You bet it is. But it requires you to think creatively.
This, my friend, is the key to tapping the oil found inside traffic exchanges. A traffic exchange is nothing but advertisement after advertisement after, well, you get the idea. So if your ad doesn’t do something great to capture that prospects attention, you’re losing hundreds of prospects from the start.

How can this attention capturing be done?
Well, most people just slap their web site up on traffic exchanges, as it is. I’ve always been a fan of creating targeted landing pages for each type of advertising campaign I run. It takes time, but the short-term effort is certainly worth the long-term result.

So what’s a landing page?
A landing page is a web site that you create that is targeted towards the type of visitor you know is going to see it. So if you are advertising on a traffic exchange, create a landing page that’s bold, maybe has sound, says something that invokes the readers curiosity and something that is visually appealing.

The list goes on, but the point here is that you want to create a web page that reaches out and literally grabs your prospects attention and subconsciously forces them to read your web site. When advertising on traffic exchanges, this is not an option, it is a MUST! Anything else is just a game of luck.

The final piece of advice I have for how to best utilize traffic exchanges is through using them as a lead gathering source, rather than a “close-the-deal” source.

You can get them to enter their email address through offering them something for OF VALUE for free, such as a free report, free e-course or free e-book download. Or you can just mention a few very enticing things about the NoBSzone opportunity that invokes the persons curiosity and creates a desires in him to quick enter his email address in your input box to get more information from you.

Lead generation can be very lucrative because once you have that lead you can put them through an auto-responder series, email them personally, or whatever you desire. You now have that lead for life! The advantage is that now you have that persons email address and will be able to slowly work them into the sale from there.
